The Power of Fish in Your Diet

Omega-3 fatty acids are called the essential fats because we need them to survive. The tricky thing is that our bodies can't produce these acids on our own.

That's where fish, the No. 1 source of omega-3 fatty acids, comes in.

And just to make it more interesting, there are two types of omega-3 fatty acids in fish that our bodies need: eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Some plant-based foods provide the omega-3 fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid (ALA).
